I'm BACK!

Have you ever neglected a thought you knew you were supposed to share? After a while, the loud reminders turn to whispers. It never goes fully silent, but you’ve learned to live with the hushed tones. 

AND THEN, in your joyfully mindless scrolling, you see someone boldly proclaim what you self-consciously kept to yourself.

“I’ve been SAYING this!” But to whom? Who did you share it with?

Oh, that’s right, nobodyyyy. 

This has been my predicament for way too long, and I’m ready to try something different.

Sincerely Latifah is all about sharing my thoughts and discoveries. Admittedly, I get insane satisfaction from pointing out a shift in the music industry before it unfolds on a large scale. That’s not always possible, though. Even if I can’t be early to the conversation, I’m still honored to participate.

I often hesitate to share my thoughts because I prefer well-researched content. It’s not because I think my observations are unfounded; I just like to precede every possible contention from a reader with facts.

Truth is (1) - that’s not possible (2) - That risk is part of the fun. Not my kind of fun, but I digress.

Also, I often try to provide extra background information because I’m assuming some readers may not be familiar with the topics. I recently realized that I can say my content is for “advanced beginners”. Sounds fancy. I dig it! 

The music business conversations are geared towards beginners. That’s not gonna change. But as for the cultural elements of my commentary, I’ll do a little less explaining.
