Beyoncé DOES Talk To Her Fans

Although Beyoncé is notorious for maintaining her privacy, the claim that she doesn’t speak to fans is no longer accurate.
Bey talks to the people, but she does it using the medium she finds most comfortable. Performance.
Beyoncé is the ultimate performer. She’s been expressing herself from the stage since she was 9. Her developmental years were spent in front of audiences. She was mostly sheltered from her peers. Outside of close relatives and her group members, she didn’t have the same expressive outlets as the average person
To add insult to injury, the media’s intrusive practices pushed Beyoncé into seclusion for years. Yet, she always found ways to convey her truth through music. When she released Lemonade in 2016, it became undeniable that Beyoncé was opening up to the people in ways unseen.
With the Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours, she is boldly relating to her audiences once again. Fans may not realize how close they feel to her until they’re planning a themed outfit or grinning from ear to ear as they scroll through a Cowboy Carter-riddled newsfeed.
All of these moments put fans in conversation with Bey. Her methods don’t require an interview with external media publications.
Nah, SHE is moderating this conversation.
Her fans are speaking to her in the stadiums or online. She’s responding onstage. With the Cowboy Carter tour, she’s both furthering existing narratives (ex, “Manager Blue”) and introducing new ones (ex, “Superstar Rumi Carter”) in her own style.
Beyoncé is a visual person. We get to SEE her personality and priorities when she’s on tour. We get to see Bey being carefree. We also get to see her being a mother. We get to see her sitting comfortably in the legacy she built over her 30-year career of excellence.
More than anything, she is emphasizing her relatability. Although she is a certified mogul, this tour is reminding us that she is ‘just a girl’. Just a mom whose kids think she's simultaneously superwoman and super lame. Just a woman from Houston who reps her roots.
Just as chronically online as the rest of us.
Her subtle nods to these realities make this tour a two-sided conversation.
Beyoncé doesn’t just see what fans are saying; she leans into it. And don’t think for a second that she isn’t intentional or mindful about this disclosure. Beyoncé has always been super protective of the things she values. Her decision to showcase more of her personality is an intentional contribution to her conversation with the fans who love and appreciate her.
And if you hate her, she’s probably not talking to you. You might just be a bystander to a conversation that she’s no longer willing to suppress.
Beyonce is that friend who doesn’t always express herself. But when she does, it’s always meaningful. You know it took a lot out of her to do it, and that simple fact deepens the relationship.
Sincerely,
Latifah
